Patent number: 7475972Abstract: A one-way valve, a valve unit assembly and ink cartridge using this valve or valve unit assembly for controlling ink flow are disclosed. The one-way valve includes a foot support portion, a wall support portion projecting at an angle from an interior side of the foot support portion, a shoulder support portion bending towards an interior side of the wall support portion, and a head support portion projecting from a shoulder support portion with a through hole. The valve unit assembly includes a bottom cover with a through hole for holding the one-way valve, a pressing cover with a through hole, and an elastic one-way valve disposed between the bottom cover and the pressing cover. The pressing cover is maintained selectively in contact with the head support portion through hole by a pressure difference. The one-way valve and the valve unit assembly are disposed in an ink chamber to replace a porous member usually used in the ink chamber.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2005Date of Patent: January 13, 2009Assignee: Unicorn Image Products Co. Ltd. of ZhuhaiInventors: Xiao Qingguo, Li Yu

Patent number: 7246891Abstract: The ink cartridge comprises a cartridge body with an ink chamber. On one side of the cartridge body is provided an ink supply port, and an air channel is positioned on the opposite side. The ink chamber is composed of a main chamber and a communicating sub-chamber, and ink-out inspection prism being provided close to the communicating portion. A check valve through which the sub-chamber is communicated with the ink supply port is provided sideways between the sidewalls adjacent to the ink supply port. In this invention, the nominal volume of each ink cartridge is increased, and there is no such problem that a certain amount of ink continues to be fed after the ink-out indicative signal being sent out in case of no porous material. Further, the technical solution of the sideways-provided check valve improves the manufacturability and the ink supply stability.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2002Date of Patent: July 24, 2007Assignee: Print-Rite Unicorn Image Products, Co., Ltd.Inventors: Xiao Qingguo, Li Yu

Patent number: 7175264Abstract: A device for continuously supplying ink under constant pressure comprising an ink storage tank and an ink feeding pipe connecting an ink chamber with a print head. The ink storage tank includes a container having a relatively large ink chamber which has a gas passage connected with the atmosphere. Inside the ink storage tank is a first chamber and a second chamber. A gas inlet port connected with the atmosphere is provided inside the first chamber. At the lower part of the partition between the two chambers, there is provided a gas-liquid exchange entryway that allows gas in the first chamber to enter into the second chamber and allows ink in the second chamber to flow into the first chamber. Utilizing an equilibrium principle of gas pressure, constant pressure processes can be designed and manufactured.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2004Date of Patent: February 13, 2007Assignee: Print-Rite.Unicorn Image Products Co., Ltd. of ZhubaiInventors: Xiao Qingguo, Jin Benyou

Publication number: 20050243147Abstract: An ink cartridge, ink filling method and apparatus are disclosed. A one valve is disposed in the ink chamber of an ink cartridge and includes a foot support portion, a wall support portion projecting at an angle from the interior side of foot support portion, a shoulder support portion bending towards the interior side of wall support portion, and a head support portion projecting from shoulder support portion with a through hole. A valve sealing assembly being maintained selectively in contact with the head support portion through hole by a pressure difference. A sealing assembly integrally formed with a block portion is disposed at ink outlet port. The cartridge is very sensitive to pressure changes, which enhances printing quality. At the same time, the sealing assembly of the cartridge has an enhanced sealing function in non-usage status and usage status as well.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2005Publication date: November 3, 2005Inventors: Xiao Qingguo, Li Yu
