  • Publication number: 20110195860
Abstract: Biofunctionalized fibers including a fiber platform and a histidine-tagged protein and, optionally, an antibody. Chitosan is a fiber useful as the fiber platform. The fiber platform may be treated with nickel or may be directly linked to the histidine-tagged protein e.g., histidine-tagged streptococcal IgG-binding protein, protein G, protein G3T, GFP or RFP. The resulting biofunctionalized fibers can be assembled into protein fiber assemblies by a variety of biofabrication methods. The fiber assemblies, e.g., in the form of woven fabrics, are useful for (i) antigen capture; (ii) immunoanalysis, and/or (iii) multiplexed analysis. In one fabrication, each fiber of a fiber assembly presents a specific antibody, and mixing and matching of fibers, for example by weaving of fabrics from various antibody-presenting fibers, allows for multiple antigens to be captured simultaneously for multiplexed analysis.

  • Publication number: 20100130130
Abstract: A master-slave Bluetooth mobile communication system includes a host device and an extension device. The host device includes a call module, a first Bluetooth module and a first communication module. The extension device includes a second Bluetooth module and a second communication module. The first and second communication modules log in to a first and a second network domain respectively. The first and second Bluetooth modules provide an information channel between the host device and the extension device to transmit a data. The extension device informs the host device a login data of the second network domain. The host device communicates with a remote device through the first network domain or the information channel and the second network domain that the extension device logs into. Therefore, in a specific range, the host device uses functions of the extension device and a Bluetooth technology to log in to two network domains.

  • Publication number: 20040095890
Abstract: A traffic generating switch (1) has alternative operating modes, namely switching mode and traffic generation mode. The switch includes software modules (10), hardware modules (20), a buffer (30), and a plurality of communication ports (40). The software modules include a switch control module (12), a traffic generator control module (14), and a common platform (16). The switch control module is capable of receiving and forwarding packets, and the traffic generator control module is capable of generating instructions for traffic generation. The hardware modules include a forwarding device (22), a traffic generation device (24), and a media access controlling device (26). When the switch works under traffic generation mode, the traffic generator control module generates instructions for traffic generation according to parameters set by users.

  • Publication number: 20040028030
Abstract: A method for dialing an Internet protocol phone via a GPRS network is disclosed. First, a calling side unit issues a request signal for communication to a receiving side unit, wherein the request signal for communication includes a calling side IP address and a calling side communication port. Then, the receiving side user receives the request signal for communication and sends back a responding user datagram protocol (UDP) packet to the calling side unit, according to the calling side communication port, in which the responded UDP packet includes the calling side IP address of the calling side unit. Next, the calling side unit receives the UDP packet from the calling side IP communication port, and begins to transmit and receive the UDP packet carrying the voice digital data with the receiving side unit, so as to perform the communication via the Internet protocol phone. The present invention allows the user to easily dial the Internet protocol phone with a reduction of the communication cost.

  • Patent number: 6095302
Abstract: A clutch/bearing assembly includes an outer ring having an inner circumference which is formed with an annular groove and a plurality of juxtaposed inclined ramps. The assembly also include an inner ring having an outer circumference which is formed with an annular groove and a juxtaposed flat. An annular frame formed with a plurality of grips is positioned between the inner and outer rings to hold a plurality of ball bearings in the grooves for rotation of the inner ring relative to the outer ring. Also, an annular casing is positioned between the inner and outer rings to hold a plurality of roller bearings between the flat of the inner ring and a respective inclined ramp on the outer ring. Specifically, the casing allows each roller bearing to separate from its respective inclined ramp and thereby permit a unidirectional rotation of the inner ring relative to the outer ring.
