    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a numerical simulation method and system suitable for the effect of clay minerals on brittleness in continental shale, which belongs to the technical field of rock mechanical properties research. In the process of digital core stress simulation, the method of adjusting the number of pixels, coordinates, mechanical properties, and boundary conditions is used to simulate the content and distribution of geological components, the types of clay minerals and the changes caused by deep burial in the evolution process of clay minerals, and then determine the influence coefficient of each factor on brittleness. The present disclosure can make up for the defect that the single factor of natural samples is uncontrollable, and the three-dimensional digital core model is adjusted by the double verification method, which improves the authenticity and reliability of the simulation results.

    Abstract: An online system uses a trained machine-learning model for dynamically modifying an authorization buffer amount to cover additional expenses occurring during fulfillment of an online order. Upon receiving a signal indicating that a user entered an online checkout stage of the order, the online system applies the machine-learning model to generate a set of values of a metric for a set of authorization buffer amounts, each value of the metric resulting from charging the user a respective authorization buffer amount over an expected value of the order if a value of the order at delivery is greater than the expected value. The online system selects an authorization buffer amount resulting in the largest value of the metric, and generates an authorization signal that authorizes charging the user the authorization buffer amount over the expected value if the value of the order is greater than the expected value.

    Abstract: In some embodiments, a method includes inputting a proxy encoding configuration into an encoder. This encoder determines proxy quality values from an actual encoding of a portion of a video. These proxy quality values are for a set of bitrates and a resolution. The method also determines target feature values for the same portion of the video. The method inputs both the target feature values and a target configuration into a prediction network. This network generates a plurality of quality offset values for the set of bitrates and the resolution. The prediction network is configured to predict an offset to the proxy quality values. This offset is determined based on a difference between the proxy encoding configuration and the target configuration. The method then generates a plurality of quality values. The generation uses the plurality of proxy quality values and the corresponding plurality of quality offset values.

Corresponding stars rating are determined according to the internal rate of return of the gas wells. The new well is drilled according to the deployment location that can meet the economic benefit requirements. After the gas well is drilled, a more detailed fracturing design is carried out, and the internal rate of return of the gas well and the star rating of development benefit are redetermined.
