  • Patent number: 7560615
Abstract: This invention relates to an isolated isoflavone synthase 1 (IFS1) promoter nucleic acid fragment. The invention also relates to the construction of chimeric genes comprising all or a portion of the IFS1 promoter directing the expression of transgenes, in sense or antisense orientation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 1, 2005
Date of Patent: July 14, 2009
    Assignees: EI, Pioneer Hi-Bred International
Inventors: Joan T. Odell, Xiaodan Yu, Xu Hu, Ghihua Lu

Inventors: Joan T. Odell, Xiaodan Yu, Xu Hu, Guihua Lu
  • Publication number: 20060242735
Abstract: This invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid sequence encoding isoflavone synthase. The invention also relates to the construction of chimeric sequences encoding all or a substantial portion of the enzymes, in sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the chimeric sequence results in production of altered levels of the enzyme in a transformed host cell.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 29, 2006
    Publication date: October 26, 2006
Inventors: Gary Fader, Woosuk Jung, Brian McGonigle, Joan Odell, Xiaodan Yu
  • Publication number: 20060218672
Abstract: A method for altering the ratio of total daidzein to total genistein in isoflavonoid-producing plants by using a C1 myb transcription factor and an R-type myc transcription factor is described. Also described are plant comprising these transcription factors in their genome as well as isoflavonoid-containing products made from seeds of these plants. Such products have an increased ratio of total daidzein to total genistein when compared to the total daidzein to total genistein ratio of a control.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 2, 2006
    Publication date: September 28, 2006
    Inventors: Joan Odell, Xiaodan Yu
