  • Patent number: 7703943
Abstract: A color tunable light source comprises: a first light emitting diode (LED) arrangement operable to emit light of a first color and a second LED arrangement operable to emit light of a second color, the combined light output comprising the output of the source. One or both LED arrangements comprises a phosphor provided remote to an associated LED operable to generate excitation energy of a selected wavelength range and to irradiate the phosphor such that it emits light of a different color wherein light emitted by the LED arrangement comprises the combined light from the LED and phosphor and control means operable to control the color by controlling the relative light outputs of the two LED arrangements. The color can be controlled by controlling the relative magnitude of the drive currents of the LEDs or by controlling a duty cycle of PWM drive current.

  • Publication number: 20100052560
Abstract: A color tunable light source comprising: a first LED arrangement operable to emit light of a first color and a second LED arrangement operable to emit light of a second color, the LED arrangements being configured such that their combined light comprises the output of the source and control means operable to control the color of light emitted by the source by controlling the relative light outputs of the two LED arrangements wherein the control means is operable to dynamically switch the outputs of the LED arrangements and the color is tunable by controlling a duty cycle of the drive current. One or both LED arrangements can comprise at least one phosphor and an associated LED that is operable to irradiate the phosphor with excitation radiation of a first wavelength range such that the phosphor emits light of a different wavelength range.

  • Patent number: 7283496
Abstract: A network paging system and method implementing a Mobile IP protocol that allows transparent routing of IP datagrams sent by a Correspondent Node (CN) (any Internet node that wants to communicate with a Mobile Node) to a Mobile Node (MN) in the Internet is disclosed. The IP paging protocol disclosed is an extension to Mobile IP to allow dormant mode operation permitting conservation of battery power when not receiving/sending IP datagrams. The disclosed technique permits a mobile node to alternate between dormant and active modes to conserve its power resources. In the disclosed invention, the mobile node does not perform location updates as long as it is in dormant mode. In a preferred embodiment, the implement IP paging protocol is a Layer-3 protocol used to find the paging area, in which the MN is located and to alert MN to come out of dormant mode, whenever there is an incoming traffic.

  • Publication number: 20040102998
Abstract: A system and method to identify a patient for imaging and information systems in a health care enterprise. A health care enterprise has a facility which includes typically equipment and the user. The system comprises the means for assigning a patient identifier-domain (PIDD) to a patient registration service in the health care enterprise. A means for assigning a default patient-identifier-domain (Default PIDD) to each facility, equipment and user. A means for assigning a patient-identifier (PID) to the patient. A means for assigning a global patient-identifier-domain identification (PIDD-ID) to each PIDD. A means for associating each PIDD with the PIDD-ID. And a means for associating the PID with the PIDD to create a unique patient identifier.

  • Patent number: 6336357
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for measuring the properties of thermoset plastics and viscoelastic materials. The present invention includes a seal member which inhibits the release of sample material from the die cavity of a test instrument. As a result, sufficient sample material is maintained within the die cavity when pressure is applied to the material. Accordingly, an appropriate shearing force can be applied to the sample material to obtain torque measurements. Moreover, by inhibiting the release of sample material from the die cavity, sample material is prevented from coming into contact with components of the test instrument outside the die cavity, which in turn may distort or invalidate measurements of torque.
