    Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for an advanced motion detection and decision mechanism for a comb filter in an analog video decoder are provided. A spatial luma component and a spatial chroma component of a current pixel of a composite video baseband signal may be determined by a spatial comb filter. A temporal luma component and a temporal chroma component of the current pixel of the composite video baseband signal may be determined by one or more temporal comb filters. A motion level of the current pixel may be generated based on one or more video characteristics. A luma component and a chroma component of the current pixel of the composite video baseband signal may be generated based on the generated motion level and determined spatial luma component, spatial chroma component, temporal luma component, and temporal chroma component of the current pixel of the composite video baseband signal.
