    Abstract: The present invention discloses a prediction method for a maximum velocity profile in a wave boundary layer based on velocity defect functions. The method overcomes the theoretical defects of the existing velocity defect functions. That is, the velocity profile in a turbulent wave boundary layer cannot be realized; and in addition, without the assumption of linear wave conditions, the method is suitable for nonlinear waves and at the same time, for a small A/k, range, and can be extended to the analysis and prediction for the maximum velocity profile under the condition that the spatial distribution of roughness elements of gravel seabed, etc. obviously affects the flow structure of the boundary layer. The present invention can be directly applied to the analysis and prediction for physical quantities/processes, such as characteristics of the wave boundary layer, stress of underwater structures, and starting and transport of submarine sediments.

The width of each of the electrode portions and/or the width of each of the strip portions and/or the width of each of the slits is different. Since the pixel electrodes in different positions have a different aperture ratio-voltage curve. This improves the viewing angle deviation of the four domain pixel electrode.

An image sensor senses light from the at least one light emitter that has been incident on the plant specimen. A processor analyzes data obtained from the light sensor to assess one or more properties of the plant specimen. There may be more than one light emitter, e.g., a halogen lamp and LED array, and the apparatus may acquire images under more than one lighting condition. The apparatus may include a mechanism for moving the plant specimen relative to the optical path to take images at multiple regions of interest on the specimen.

In some embodiments, bigram re-weighting can down-weight a keyword that is likely to be part of a bigram based on a predicted tag set.
