The drofenine or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof has a significant effect on promoting growth of peripheral sensory neurites, and can relieve symptoms of low nerve conduction velocity and sensation loss of STZ-induced type I diabetic mice and db/db type II diabetic mice, thereby treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
