    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a polylactic acid composition and a method of preparing the same. The polylactic acid composition comprises a polymeric material and a reaction product obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula (A) with a compound represented by formula (B), the polymeric material comprising polylactic acid, the compound represented by formula (A) being a trimeric phosphazene-based substance, and the compound represented by formula (B) being diamine. The polylactic acid composition is favorable in both flame retardancy and toughness.

    Abstract: Compositions and methods for diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis (MS) and other health conditions involve collecting serum samples from a subject and exposing the serum samples to a protein capture composition, collecting the unbound eluent or flow-through, and measuring the levels of at least one immunoglobulin therein. Methods for differentiating between different types of MS also involve exposing serum samples to a protein capture composition and detecting immunoglobulin levels in the flow-through. Based on the detected immunoglobulin levels, an MS subtype is diagnosed in a subject and a treatment regimen can be adjusted or ceased according to the diagnosis.

    Abstract: The methods disclosed herein include diagnosing a patient with MS, selecting a patient for further testing for MS, should the patient show elevated level of human IgG relative to an appropriate control. The methods also include differentiating subtypes of MS. The methods also include evaluating the efficacy of an MS drug or course of drug treatments, and/or treating MS. The methods include determining whether patients have elevated levels of IgG3-IgG1 immune complexes (which can include glycosylated IgG antibodies) in both blood and CSF. Methods also include diagnosing patients with primary-progressive MS (PPMS) and secondary-progressive MS (SPMS) where patients have higher levels of IgG3-IgG1 complexes in both CSF and blood, and reduced levels of albumin compared to patients with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS).
