Patent number: 10755096Abstract: Disclosed herein are devices, methods, and systems for controlling a robot or assistive device that allows the robot or device to find and manipulate objects in a real world environment. The disclosed devices, methods, and systems may, in many cases, receive control input through monitoring, tracking, and analyzing the 3D gaze of a user/controller. Using the described 3D eye tracking, a user can directly and naturally look at an object of interest in the real world, while the system monitors, tracks, and records the user's 3D gaze position. This information, in many cases, is then translated into input commands for the robot or assistive.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2018Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Inventors: Xiaoli Zhang, Songpo Li

Publication number: 20200255286Abstract: Disclosed a MEMS assembly and a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method comprises: forming a groove on a sensor chip; forming a bonding pad on a circuit chip; bonding the sensor chip and the circuit chip together to form a bonding assembly; performing a first dicing process at a first position of the sensor chip to penetrate through the sensor chip to the groove; performing a second dicing process at a second position of the sensor chip to penetrate through the sensor chip and the circuit chip, for obtaining an individual MEMS assembly by singulating the bonding assembly, wherein location of the groove corresponds to a position of the bonding pad, and an opening is formed in the sensor chip to expose the bonding pad when the second dicing process is performed. The method uses two dicing process respectively achieving different depths to expose the bonding pad of the sensor chip and singulate the MEMS assembly, respectively, to improve yield and reliability.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2018Publication date: August 13, 2020Inventors: Yongxiang Wen, Chen Liu, Feng Ji, XiaoLi Zhang

Patent number: 10682038Abstract: The presently disclosed devices, methods, and systems involve direct and intuitive visualization using gaze-control in robotic laparoscopy. For example, when the system detects a new visual interest, the robot may guide the scope to approach or move toward the target view. In order to achieve the disclosed control, a system coordinate transformation is developed. The disclosed devices, methods, and systems may translates gaze positions on image (in pixels) to relative rotation angles and/or translation distances of the laparoscope. In most cases, this relationship, which may be built, in part, on the parameters of the laparoscope and the inserted laparoscope length in the patient's body, may allow the robot to directly follow the surgeon's gaze position on the monitor. The disclosed devices, methods, and systems may help to reduce cognitive and physical burdens on a laparoscopic surgeon.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2015Date of Patent: June 16, 2020Inventors: Xiaoli Zhang, Songpo Li
