  • Publication number: 20070031942
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the fields of genomics, synthetic biology and genetic engineering. More particularly, the present invention concerns the methods that enable parallel multiplex ligation and amplification on surface for making assemblies of nucleic acids of various biological applications and for analysis of biological samples such as DNA, RNA, and proteins.

  • Patent number: 7091057
Abstract: First and second n-doped regions are formed at a surface of a p-doped single crystal silicon substrate. An aluminum layer is patterned overlying some of the second n-doped regions to form thermal actuators. A dielectric layer is deposited overlying the patterned aluminum layer and an underlying thermal oxide layer. A metal layer is deposited thereover and patterned to form bond pads to the thermal actuators and to form reflecting mirror surfaces overlying others of the second n-doped regions to form micromirrors. The substrate is etched away from the backside stopping at the first and second n-doped regions. Then the wafer is diced into mirror array chips. Portions of the first n-doped regions are etched away from the frontside to form flexible springs wherein the second n-doped regions covered by the patterned aluminum layer form thermal actuators and wherein the flexible springs connect the micromirrors to the thermal actuators.

  • Publication number: 20060141659
Abstract: In a 3D free space micromirror device, a mirror plate is joined with actuators through flexible springs where the other ends of the actuators have fixed support on the substrate. Single crystal silicon and aluminum are used as bi-morph materials with silicon dioxide providing electrical isolation between the two. Thickness variation in the microstructure is achieved by two-step p-n junction formed in a p-type substrate. Thick and thin n-silicon layer formation and DRIE cut mechanisms are employed in such a way that all the thick and thin silicon components of the structure are released simultaneously avoiding overetch which can be detrimental to the thin flexural springs. Working prototypes of the device have been found suitable for any optical switching array architecture where deflections up to 10 degrees are required.

  • Publication number: 20050185945
Abstract: The present invention presents a bionic automatic vision and line of sight control system and method, wherein the system comprises multiple camera sets, wherein each camera set comprises one or more parallel camera with different shooting range, wherein each camera set is driven by one or three actuators, capable of rotating in two or three degree of freedom. The present system is capable of fast object positioning, high accuracy tracking and wide range compensation for line of sight deviation caused by the movement of the system. More specifically, the system can ensure two camera sets to position and track the same object at the same time. The present system not only can be used in various fixed places to monitor, protect and care taking, it can also be installed on various moving objects, such as cars, airplanes, boats, military equipments, and it can be used as eyes for various types of robots.

  • Publication number: 20040172380
Abstract: The present invention provides an automatic cooking method and system, wherein the cooking process of a chef is recorded. Then, a program about the cooking process is obtained with information about amounts and kinds of main ingredients and seasoning materials used by the chef, timing of adding main ingredients and seasoning materials and movement tracks of the cooking container and shovel. Thereafter, manipulators of a mechanical operating system of the present invention imitate chef's cooking process according to commend signal from the program to produce a dish. The present invention uses recording devices to record chef's cooking process and provide a program, then respective mechanical operating system accomplishes cooking tasks imitating the chef, which provides restaurants and households with dishes by the chef when using the program and mechanical operating system.
