  • Publication number: 20130110745
Abstract: A computer receives a plurality of input events, each input event comprising one or more factors. The computer processes each input event based on event processing rules that cause the computer to evaluate the one or more factors and assign each input event a Boolean output value. The computer generates an output event containing the one or more factors and the Boolean output value. The computer generates additional event processing rules based on output events for which the event processing rules caused the output events to have a false-negative or false-positive Boolean output value. The additional rules are then included in the event processing rules.

  • Publication number: 20130045084
Abstract: A low-noise bladeless fan includes a base, a nozzle at the top of the base and noise-reduction components located within the base. The noise-reduction components include a first noise-reduction component, a second noise-reduction component and a third noise-reduction component. The first noise-reduction component is located at an interface between air outlets and an internal passage for airflow reduces noise by isolating, obstructing and separating noise created inside the outer casing. The second noise-reduction component is disposed within an impeller fixture reduces noise by absorbing noise created inside the outer casing. Through-holes are disposed in the bottom of the outer casing act as the third noise-reduction component and also reduce noise. The arrangement of noise-reduction components can reduce noise created in the fan, thereby cooling users with natural and soft wind.

  • Publication number: 20120215871
Abstract: Methods and systems to automatically respond to a request for product information are described. In one embodiment, a data collection module may collect product data over a network, identify that the product data is related to a particular product, and store the product data and an association between the product data and the particular product in a database. An instant messaging engine may receive a request for the product data after the product data is stored in the database and an interpreter module may identify, in response to the request, the request to correspond to the particular product and retrieve the product data based on the association between the particular product and the product data. The instant messaging engine may also transmit, using an instant messaging protocol, a response to the request, the response including the product data.

  • Publication number: 20110213609
Abstract: A natural language-independent computer program is constructed. A data element is defined by a graphical representation in a user interface. A data element has a data type and a value. An operator is defined on multiple data elements by association of the graphical representations in the user interface. A natural language-independent graph data structure is defined by the association of data elements representing the logic of a computer program. The data types and operators have referenced descriptions in one or more natural languages, enabling a logical expression such as a computer program to be defined and understood in one or more natural languages.

  • Patent number: 7995062
Abstract: A method is provided for utilizing the human perceptual system by providing a spectrum of event log data for viewing. Event log data is received. Events of the event log data are mapped to an x-axis of a spectrum based on time, where the events of the event log data correspond to a time slot on the x-axis. Categories for the events are mapped to a y-axis of the spectrum, where the y-axis is a frequency axis, and where each of the categories respectively corresponds to a frequency of the multiple frequencies. Strength of events are mapped to a z-axis of the spectrum, where the z-axis is a magnitude axis, and where a magnitude value reflects the significance of the events happened at a particular time slot in a particular category. The magnitude of events (z-axis) of the event log data may be further mapped to a line thickness of the spectrum for the multiple frequencies.

Abstract: A method is provided for utilizing the human perceptual system by providing a spectrum of event log data for listening. Event log data is received. Events of the event log data are mapped to an x-axis of a spectrum based on time, where events of the event log data correspond to a time slot on the x-axis. Categories for the events are mapped to a y-axis of the spectrum, where the y-axis is a frequency axis, and where each of the categories respectively corresponds to a frequency of the multiple frequencies. The significance of the events of the event log data is mapped to a z-axis of the spectrum, where the z-axis is a magnitude axis. The time from the x-axis, the multiple frequencies from the y-axis, and the magnitude from z-axis of the spectrum are translated into sound.

  • Patent number: 7557728
Abstract: A system for monitoring the performance of an application comprises a computer system having one or more speakers and means for running an application, the computer system being configured to perform the steps of determining an output of an application that requires monitoring, assigning an audible sound to the output, running the application and allowing the application to reach a state of equilibrium, determining a baseline for the output when the application is in the state of equilibrium, monitoring the output to detect a change relative to the baseline, emitting the audible sound assigned to the output through at least one of the one or more speakers when the detected change varies from the baseline by a predetermined amount, and adjusting configurable parameters of the audible sound to indicate the existence of the detected change, the magnitude of the detected change relative to the baseline, and the degree of deviation from the baseline.

  • Publication number: 20080221204
Abstract: This invention is drawn to compounds which are more easily metabolized by the metabolic drug detoxification systems. Particularly, warfarin analogs which have been designed to include esters within the structure of the compounds are taught. The invention teaches methods of reducing the toxicity of drugs comprising the introduction of ester groups into drugs during the synthesis of the drug. This invention is also drawn to methods of treating coagulation disorders comprising the administration of compounds which have been designed to be metabolized by serum or intracellular hydrolases and esterases. Pharmaceutical compositions of the ester containing warfarin, analogs are also taught.
