Abstract: Fusion proteins that fluoresce and bind DNA, as well as nucleic acid constructs encoding the same are described herein. These imaging agents function in live cells to bind DNA and are thus useful for visualizing nuclei and chromosomes to make observations of nuclear and chromosomal structure and dynamics. The imaging agents may be used in screening assays to test the activity of biological effector molecules.
