  • Publication number: 20210196970
Abstract: A method for a method for treatment of cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) with cold atmospheric plasma and Folfirinox. The method includes treating a patient having CCA with a low dosage FOLFIRINOX regimen, for example, 6.73 nM, giving the patient the low-dosage FOLFIRINOX regimen pre-operatively, surgically removing the cancerous tumor from the patient, continuing the low-dosage FOLFIRINOX treatment regimen intra-operatively, applying cold atmospheric plasma to the surgical margins surrounding the area in the patient from which the tumor was removed, and continuing the FOLFIRINOX post-operatively.

  • Publication number: 20200060748
Abstract: A method for performing cold atmospheric plasma therapy to treat breast cancer. The cancerous tumor is sampled and cold atmospheric plasma treatment is performed on sampled cancerous tumor cells ex vivo. The results of the testing are stored in an electronic storage media. A cell viability reduction rate of said tested samples is calculated with a processor and stored in memory. An average cell viability reduction rate is then calculated by the processor for the cancerous tumor. Cold atmospheric plasma dosages to be used in treatment of the cancerous tumor in vivo are then projected using the processor. The tumor is surgically removed from the patient. The surgical margins of the tumor are then treated with cold atmospheric plasma at the projected dosages.

  • Publication number: 20190076537
Abstract: Solutions having a solvent and a cold atmospheric plasma dissolved in the solvent are described. Methods and systems of forming cold atmospheric plasma (CAP)-containing solutions are also described. A system for producing (CAP)-containing solutions includes a gas source; a plasma generating device having a hollow body fluidically coupled with the gas source, a closed proximal end and an open distal end, the hollow body receiving gas from the gas source, and at least one electrode in or about the hollow body and ionizing the gas to discharge a cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) from the open distal end; and a container for housing a fluid, the open distal end of the plasma generating device in fluid communication with an inner portion of the container. CAP-containing solutions can be used in treatment of cancer cells, infected tissue sterilization, microorganism inactivation, promotion of wound healing, skin regeneration, and blood coagulation, and teeth bleaching/whitening.

  • Publication number: 20180193093
Abstract: A system and method of treating an area having cancerous cells. The system includes a plasma device to generate a plasma jet directed at the area having cancerous cells. A magnetic field generator generates a magnetic field directed at the area having cancerous cells. A controller is coupled to the plasma device and the magnetic field generator to control the plasma jet generated by the plasma device and control the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generator.
