    Abstract: A foot pedal assembly including, according to one example, a foot pad extending lengthwise between a first end and a second end, a pedal base having a hinge end and a projection end, the projection end including a projection inwardly oriented toward the foot pad and having a pedal base ramp face. A flexible hinge may couple the first end of the foot pad to the hinge end of the pedal base. A target holder may be mounted toward the second end of the foot pad, the target holder having a target holder end projection with a target holder ramp face in contact with the pedal base ramp face. Application of force to the foot pad causes movement of the target holder ramp face toward the second end of the foot pad while maintaining contact with the pedal base ramp face.

The electronic processor is configured to generate an output signal for controlling the vehicle based on a signal generated by the sensor and a model that defines a mechanical hysteresis effect. Another pedal assembly includes a prismatic joint that couples the foot pad to the pedal base. The prismatic joint enables linear displacement of the foot pad relative to the pedal base when a force is exerted on the foot pad.

    Abstract: A fiber Bragg grating sensor arrangement includes a resonant cavity light emitting diode for outputting light; a fiber having a first end disposed to receive light output from the resonant cavity light emitting diode, the fiber including fiber Bragg grating etched at one or more locations along a length thereof. A strain mount or beam supports the fiber and to which the fiber is attached or bonded. A light detection circuit disposed at a second end of the fiber receives light traveling through the fiber, the light detection circuit sensing intensity of the received light that corresponds to strain or force applied to the fiber that is bonded to the strain mount. Another fiber Bragg grating sensor arrangement includes a second reference fiber that does not receive a force or strain. The reference fiber provides an output used to prevent temperature/humidity from affecting the output of the FBG sensor arrangement.

    Abstract: A heat dissipation apparatus including an air-cooling structure and a liquid-cooling structure, and a server are provided. The air-cooling structure is configured to simultaneously perform air cooling on a first-type component and a second-type component, and the liquid-cooling structure is configured to perform liquid cooling on the first-type component, where heat generated by the first-type component is higher than heat generated by the second-type component. The liquid-cooling structure specifically includes a liquid-cooling assembly and a heat exchanger. The liquid-cooling assembly can conduct the heat generated by the first-type component into a coolant in a liquid-cooling pipe of the liquid-cooling assembly. The heat exchanger is configured for heat exchange between the coolant and external air, and the heat exchanger herein is disposed at a tail end of the server.
