  • Patent number: 9662027
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for determining onset of ventricular arrhythmias using bounded-input bounded-output stability of QT interval (QTI) dynamics. The method of the present invention includes two parts. A first part of the method determines the dependence of each QTI on several prior QTIs and RR intervals (RRI). This determination is represented as an autoregressive model with exogenous input (ARX). A second part of the method determines the BIBO stability of the ARX model in the z-domain. The metrics associated with the first and second parts of the method are then used to predict onset of arrhythmia.

  • Patent number: 9215987
Abstract: A method of predicting ventricular arrhythmias includes receiving an electrical signal from a subject's heart for a plurality of heart beats, identifying characteristic intervals and heart beat durations of the electrical signal corresponding to each of the plurality of heart beats to provide a plurality of characteristic intervals with corresponding heart beat durations, representing dynamics of the plurality of characteristic intervals as a function of a plurality of preceding characteristic intervals and durations of corresponding heart beats over a chosen period time, assessing a stability of the function over the chosen period of time, and predicting ventricular arrhythmias based on detected instabilities in the dynamics of the characteristic intervals.

  • Patent number: 7047067
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products can be provided for evaluating a risk of the occurrence of cardiac arrhythmias in a heart. The system can include at least one sensing electrode and a controller. The sensing electrode can be configured to sense electrical signals from a heart over a range of heart rates. The controller can be configured to determine values of a at least one restitution property of the heart from the sensed electrical signals and to evaluate the risk of the occurrence of cardiac arrhythmias from the determine values of the at least one restitution property.
