    Abstract: A reference block is determined from a plurality of candidate reference blocks for a current block in a current picture based on template matching (TM) costs of the plurality of candidate reference blocks. The TM costs indicate differences between a template of the current block and respective reference templates of the plurality of candidate reference blocks. Samples of the determined reference block are classified into a plurality of classes of samples. A partitioning pattern of the current block is derived based on the determined reference block from a predetermined plurality of partitioning patterns. The derived partitioning pattern indicates a plurality of partitions of the current block. Each of the plurality of classes of the samples of the determined reference block corresponds to a respective partition of the plurality of partitions of the current block. The current block is reconstructed based on the derived partitioning pattern of the current block.

The method also includes obtaining a filtered first block by applying a cross-component sample offset (CCSO) to the first block, where the CCSO is based on the set of parameters.     Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for experimentally determining a critical sand-carrying gas velocity of a shale gas well. The method includes: collecting well structure and production data, calculating parameter ranges of a gas flow velocity and a liquid flow velocity; carrying out a physical simulation experiment of sand carrying in the shale gas well to obtain the sand holding capacity of the wellbore under different experimental conditions, and calculating a sand holding rate; by observing a change curve of the sand holding rate of the wellbore vs. the gas flow velocity, defining a turning point, and sensitively analyzing the influence of other experimental variables on the turning point, to calculate the critical sand-carrying production of the shale gas well under different conditions. Therefore, this calculation method is simple and applicable, and provides a theoretical basis for the optimization design of water drainage and gas production process.

    Abstract: A system and method are provided for protecting semiconductor components from thermal failure in an electronic circuit interrupter. The electronic trip unit (ETU) is configured to determine what range of current the detected current signal corresponds to, out of several ranges categorized as being either non-fault/normal, non-severe fault, and severe fault. The ETU then selects a mode of operation in which to operate based on the determined range of current. In modes of operation corresponding to a fault condition, the ETU monitors certain characteristics of the current such as magnitude and/or rate of rise, and if the aforementioned current characteristics exceed a specified threshold for a minimum interval of time, the ETU will trip the electronic interrupter. If, however, the aforementioned current characteristics fall below the specified threshold prior to the minimum interval of time elapsing, the ETU will not trip the electronic interrupter.

The processing circuitry determines, in response to a motion vector predictor of a merge candidate being a bi-predictor, whether the merge candidate for the current block satisfies a requirement for applying a bi-prediction motion refinement. The processing circuitry can constrain the merge candidate for use in the MMVD mode when the merge candidate for the current block satisfies the requirement. Then, the processing circuitry reconstructs the current block in the MMVD mode with the merge candidate being constrained for use in the MMVD mode.
