    Abstract: In a method for waking up an operating system of an electronic device, a sensor of the electronic device is started and controlled to detect a distance between a specific object and the electronic device when a specific object enters into a detection area of the sensor. The method determines whether the detected distance is more than a predefined distance and determines whether a current status of the electronic device is maintained for a first predefined time if the detected distance is not more than the predefined distance. An operating system of the electronic device is controlled to wake up when the predefined status of the electronic device is maintained for a first predefined time.

The method further obtains second rotation angles of the display screen detected by a gravity sensor of the electronic device, and stops rotating the display screen when the second rotation angles are equal to the first rotation angles.

    Abstract: An electronic device includes a boot controlling chip, a power switch, a display unit, a power management unit and a processing unit. The power switch generates an electronic signal to the boot controlling chip while being triggered by a user. The boot controlling chip includes a boot sequence controlling module and a timer. The boot sequence controlling module controls the electronic device to boot in preset steps when the electronic signal is received. The timer starts timing when the electronic signal is received and ends timing when the boot sequence controlling module controls the electronic device to finish a login step of the boot steps, and the timer obtains a time of the interval.
