  • Publication number: 20080154708
Abstract: An advertising service divides a consumer transaction at a POS location into multiple time frames. The service then determines an advertisement (ad) for display in one of the time frames and displays the ad in one of the time frames. One of the time frames spans one of the following activities: waiting for a consumer to begin a transaction, greeting a consumer, beginning a transaction, selecting a form of payment, swiping a card for a form of payment, entering a security code for the form of payment, identifying a product for purchase, displaying a total cost for products identified for purchase, signing for a purchase, thanking a consumer his purchase, surveying a consumer, promoting an event, applying for a credit card, informing a consumer, identifying a consumer, interacting with a consumer, and passing through an interstitial period.

  • Patent number: 7305124
Abstract: A method for adjusting image acquisition parameters to optimize object extraction is disclosed, which is applied to an object characterized by forming a specific cluster in a color coordinate space after performing a coordinate projection, and thus the specific cluster contributes to a specific color model, such as a human skin color model. This method first locates a target object within a search window in a selected image. Then applies the specific color model to obtain the image acquisition parameter(s) according to the color distribution and features of the target object. Therefore, the image is transformed according to the adjusted image acquisition parameter(s). Consequently, a complete and clear target object can be extracted from the transformed image by applying the specific color model, and the follow-up images having the same image acquisition conditions with the aforesaid image can also be transformed according to the same image acquisition parameter(s).

  • Publication number: 20070226383
Abstract: A touch sensing apparatus is provided. A preferred embodiment of a touch sensing apparatus includes a sensor (13), an MCU (15), and an integration circuit (14). The sensor is for receiving electricity signals from an object that touches the sensor. The MCU (Microcontrol Unit) has a signal output port A and a signal input port B. The signal input port is connected to the sensor. The integration circuit interposes between the signal output port and the signal input port of the MCU. The signal output port outputs AC signals to the signal input port through the integration circuit. The integration circuit prolongs active transition times of the AC signals, and the MCU identifies a touch on the sensor when the active transition times of the AC signals fall in a predetermined range and accordingly implements a predetermined function.

  • Publication number: 20070171209
Abstract: A touch sensing apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a flip-flop (15), a sensor (13), an AC signal (14), and a detector (16). The AC signal supplies AC signals to the flip-flop. The flip-flop outputs a first output signal at the output of flip-flop when the sensor is not touched. The sensor receives electricity signals from the object, and causes a delay of the AC signal inputted to the first input of the flip-flop, the delay of the AC signal to be inputted to the first input of the flip-flop further causes the flip-flop to output a second output signal at the output of the flip-flop. The detector detects a change from the first output signal to the second output signal at the output of the flip-flop and accordingly identifies a touch on the sensor.

  • Patent number: 6916198
Abstract: A high speed cable connector (1) includes a cover (10), a base (80) and a cable assembly (30) mounted between the cover and the base. The cable assembly includes a cable (42) consisting of a plurality of lines (44). Each line has a signal pair (47, 48) and a ground conductor (492). The signal pair includes a pair of upper and lower signal conductors (472, 482). The ground conductors are soldered to shielding plates (50). The shielding plates are soldered to top and bottom faces of a rear end of a printed circuit board (PCB) (62). The upper and lower signal conductors of each signal pair are soldered to the top and bottom faces of the rear end of the PCB, respectively, and located between two neighboring shielding plates, whereby cross-talk and interference between two neighboring signal pairs can be effectively suppressed and reduced. The PCB has a front end electrically connecting with contacts (662) for electrically engaging with a complementary connector.

  • Publication number: 20050114487
Abstract: A notification framework for distributing notice of the occurrence of an event. The framework receives a event message from an event generator regarding an event, encapsulates the event content within an event envelope, and distributes the event envelope to registered event listeners entitled to receive notice of the event. The notification framework is Web Service based. It provides for publication and discovery of event sources through Web Service interfaces. Event listener policies and event source policies act as filters imposing restrictions and conditions upon the event listeners entitled to notice of an event.

  • Publication number: 20030017518
Abstract: The present invention involves a method of assaying for modulators of enzymes involved in the phosphorylation of the inner core oligosaccharide of LPS. In particular, the method assays for modulators, preferably inhibitors, of WaaP, a tyrosine kinase responsible for the phosphorylation of HepI of the inner core LPS. The finding that monoclonal antibody mAb 7-4 specifically recognizes the phosphate group(s) of LPS, is the basis for the development of a non-radiolabeling, ELISA-based assay for enzymes involved in the phosphorylation of LPS.
