  • Publication number: 20110137548
Abstract: A system for organizing a variety of information related to a user is disclosed. A user may input geo-tagged multi-modal information into a mobile device. This data is automatically transferred to cloud computing resources, and made available for access by the user at a desktop or laptop computing device. After input, an implicit search based on the geolocation of the input may be undertaken and results provided to the user. Input may be flags to designate a personal point of interest (PPOI), for sharing with others, for enabling location or people-based reminders, and so forth. Reminders for upcoming activities are provided to the user such that the user has sufficient time to move from the current geolocation to the geolocation of the activity.

  • Publication number: 20110078188
Abstract: Techniques and tools described herein mine social information from a source and store the social information in a database. Responsive to a search object, the techniques search the stored social information and determine social relationships. The techniques further provide, via a graphical user interface, the social relationships determined from the social information stored in the database. In several embodiments, the techniques enable social relationship feedback.

  • Publication number: 20100320529
Abstract: A method of manufacture of an integrated circuit system includes: providing a semiconductor substrate having an active region, implanted with impurities of a first type at a first concentration; forming an isolation region around the active region; forming a parasitic transistor by applying a gate electrode, implanted with impurities of a second type at a second concentration, over the active region and the isolation region; and applying an isolation edge implant, with the impurities of the first type at a third concentration greater than or equal to the second concentration, for suppressing the parasitic transistor.

  • Publication number: 20100228711
Abstract: A system and method for enterprise search includes one or more computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed on one or more processors that perform acts including extracting one or more of term data, personal data and metadata from one or more predetermined resources; retrieving a set of information derived from the extracted term data, personal data and metadata responsive to a query; and receiving feedback responsive to the set of information, the feedback augmenting at least one of the one or more predetermined resources.

  • Publication number: 20100211918
Abstract: This document describes tools for inputting data into a computer via the movement of features of a user as detected by a webcam or other input device. This is accomplished by a user moving his or her features in view of a webcam. The webcam or other input device then detects the presence and motion of the feature(s) and converts these motions into input signals to execute predetermined input instructions.

  • Patent number: 7689421
Abstract: Described is a voice persona service by which users convert text into speech waveforms, based on user-provided parameters and voice data from a service data store. The service may be remotely accessed, such as via the Internet. The user may provide text tagged with parameters, with the text sent to a text-to-speech engine along with base or custom voice data, and the resulting waveform morphed based on the tags. The user may also provide speech. Once created, a voice persona corresponding to the speech waveform may be persisted, exchanged, made public, shared and so forth. In one example, the voice persona service receives user input and parameters, and retrieves a base or custom voice that may be edited by the user via a morphing algorithm. The service outputs a waveform, such as a .wav file for embedding in a software program, and persists the voice persona corresponding to that waveform.

  • Publication number: 20090087035
Abstract: A face cartooning system is described. In one implementation, the system generates an attractive cartoon face or graphic of a user's facial image. The system extracts facial features separately and applies pixel-based techniques customized to each facial feature. The style of cartoon face achieved resembles the likeness of the user more than cartoons generated by conventional vector-based cartooning techniques. The cartoon faces thus achieved provide an attractive facial appearance and thus have wide applicability in art, gaming, and messaging applications in which a pleasing degree of realism is desirable without exaggerated comedy or caricature.

  • Patent number: 7511909
Abstract: A method and a signal processing unit are proposed, for converting an asynchronous discrete-time signal to a synchronous discrete-time signal by performing sector-based timing recovery. The timing recovery includes aligning an initial portion of the asynchronous discrete-time signal to a first portion of a predetermined signal, and a later portion of the asynchronous discrete-time signal to a second portion of a predetermined signal. Optionally, the method and signal processing unit further perform sector based gain control, and sector-based removal of any dc component.
