  • Publication number: 20250021729
Abstract: Methods and systems for extracting hydrocarbons from a subsurface region include receiving, from a wells of a reservoir, well logs; determining, from facies data of the well logs, facies proportions associated with the subset of wells; determining, from porosity data of the well logs, facies probability functions for the wells; determining, based on the facies probability functions, facies proportions at the wells; updating the facies proportions at the wells using the facies proportions of the subset of wells; based on the updated facies proportions at the wells, generating a three-dimensional (3D) facies trend model for the subsurface region at each of the wells of the plurality; and generating, based on the 3D facies trend model, extended facies data for one or more wells of the wells that are not in the subset of wells that are associated with facies data.

  • Publication number: 20240210591
Abstract: Systems and methods for characterizing a subsurface formation include: measuring a property of the subsurface formation at a plurality of locations; storing values of the property of the subsurface formation at the plurality of locations; defining a distance of influence for the property in the subsurface formation based on the property and on a degree of heterogeneity of the subsurface formation; identifying clusters of locations that are located within the distance of influence of each other; for each cluster identified, calculating an average value of the property of the subsurface formation in the cluster; for each cluster identified, replacing multiple values of the property and locations of the identified cluster with the average value of the property of the subsurface formation in the cluster at a single location; and calculating summary statistics of the reduced data set.

  • Patent number: 11693150
Abstract: Methods for coordinate-related despiking of hydrocarbon reservoir data include receiving, by a computer system, multiple datapoints of a geomechanical property of a hydrocarbon reservoir modeled by a three-dimensional (3D) grid. Each datapoint corresponds to 3D coordinates of the 3D grid. For each datapoint, the computer system aggregates the datapoint with a noise component generated using the 3D coordinates corresponding to the datapoint. The computer system determines that the aggregated datapoint is unique to the multiple datapoints. The computer system performs a transform on the datapoints for Gaussian simulation. A display device of the computer system generates a graphical representation of the geomechanical property of the hydrocarbon reservoir based on the Gaussian simulation of the transformed datapoints.

  • Patent number: 11248448
Abstract: A computer system receives multiple datapoints of a geomechanical property of a hydrocarbon reservoir modeled by a three-dimensional (3D) grid. Each datapoint corresponds to a respective grid cell of the 3D grid. Each grid cell of the 3D grid is represented by 3D coordinates. For each grid cell of the 3D grid, the computer system generates a data component of the geomechanical property based on the 3D coordinates of the grid cell. The computer system adds the data component to a datapoint corresponding to the grid cell to provide an augmented set of datapoints. The computer system transforms the augmented set of datapoints into a Gaussian distribution using Gaussian approximation. The computer system simulates the geomechanical property of the hydrocarbon reservoir based on the Gaussian distribution using sequential Gaussian simulation.

  • Publication number: 20200381133
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for preparing a matrix for vitrifying radioactive waste, including: grinding natural magmatic rocks; and melting the ground product at 1450-1500° C. for 3-4.5 h followed by moulding and annealing to produce the matrix. The matrix includes 45%-65% by weight of SiO2, 9%-18% by weight of Al2O3, 4%-12% by weight of CaO, 3%-10% by weight of MgO, 6%-16% by weight of Fe2O3+FeO, 2%-9% by weight of Na2O+K2O and 1%-5% by weight of TiO2. The matrix is doped with simulated radioactive waste, ground, melted, moulded and annealed to obtain a glass wasteform with good chemical and thermal stability.
