    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a battery column, a battery module, and an apparatus. The battery column includes a housing, and first battery cells and second battery cells that are alternately distributed side by side along a first direction in the housing, where the first battery cell includes a first metal case and a first insulating film, the first metal case has two first side surfaces disposed opposite each other along the first direction, and the first insulating film covers at least the two first side surfaces; and the second battery cell includes a second metal case, which is exposed in the housing. In the battery column according to the embodiments of this application, even if no insulating film is provided on the second metal case of the second battery cell, and the second metal case is exposed in the housing, the battery cells can still be insulated from each other, and space inside the housing can be saved, thereby improving energy density of the battery column.
