    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide Method and apparatus for coding of an E-DCH Dedicated Physical Control Channel (E-DPCCH). The method includes encoding information bits of signalling on an E-DPCCH in a BLOCK coding manner. The apparatus includes a unit for encoding information bits of signalling on an E-DPCCH in a BLOCK coding manner. The embodiments of the present invention can solve the problem in which signalling overhead is high during signalling encoding, thus reduce transmission power of a terminal.
