  • Patent number: 10212953
Abstract: Method and apparatus for temperature controlled processes in a vessel to provide improved process control, in particular to enable controlled temperatures to be applied to a substance in different process zones of a vessel, has a series of tubular members arranged and operatively connected in a flow system, and each process zone has temperature regulating means juxtaposed thereto for effecting temperature control therein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2015
Date of Patent: February 26, 2019
    Assignee: NITECH SOLUTIONS LIMITED
Inventors: Xiongwei Ni, Ian Laird, An-Ting Liao
  • Patent number: 9682332
Abstract: Described is a device for inducing crystal nucleation in a crystallizer. The device comprises a vessel for fluid and a surface abrader, wherein the surface abrader is configured to abrade a surface within the vessel to induce crystal nucleation. The friction of the abrader against the surface within the vessel creates nano-sized particulates which induce crystal nucleation. Crystal growth can then take place in the crystallizer. Also described is a crystallization apparatus comprising the device and a crystallization process using the device or similar. The device is significantly cheaper and more reliable than known ultrasound devices and facilitates the separation of crystal nucleation and crystal growth. The device also enables the avoidance of the use of seeding as a source of secondary nucleation.

  • Patent number: 9295955
Abstract: A continuous, semi-continuous or fed-batch mixing apparatus and process for producing and maintaining a consistently mixed substance uses a tubular vessel equipped with a plurality of annular baffles configured to initiate and maintain uniform mixing and efficient dispersion of the substance in the tubular vessel, with a pump to impart unidirectional linear and non-oscillatory motion to the substance in the tubular vessel thereby promoting and maintaining uniform mixing and efficient dispersion of the substance.

  • Publication number: 20140293729
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying oscillatory motion to a substance in a vessel to provide improved mixing, in particular to enable different mixing patterns to be applied to a substance in a vessel without “stop, change and start” protocol, has a member and a control means operatively linked such that the movement of the member is determined by a control signal generated by the control means.
