The fatty alcohol and sucrose ester, when incorporated into a skin care composition at a specific ratio, can provide a synergistic improvement in cellular ATP level for skin cells suffering from the effects of oxidative stress.

    Abstract: Sucrose esters such as sucrose laurate and sucrose dilaurate are notoriously difficult to emulsify in an oil-in-water emulsion and tend to destabilize these types of emulsions. It has now been found that combining a sucrose ester with certain hydrophobically modified aqueous rheology modifier and non-ionic stearic acid derivative emulsifiers can greatly improve emulsion stability.
