One embodiment includes a wireless communication node configuring a plurality of carriers and selecting one of the plurality of carriers for sending a paging message to a wireless communication device based on a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) parameter specific for the wireless communication device. An alternate embodiment includes a wireless communication device selecting one of a plurality of carriers for receiving a paging message to a wireless communication device based on a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) parameter specific for the wireless communication device.

Abstract: This disclosure above describes a method and system for reliably delivering and receiving paging message and reducing power consumption.
