  • Patent number: 9585218
Abstract: An apparatus includes a current modulation circuit configured to modulate a current in at least one light-emitting device responsive to a pulse width modulated control signal and a control circuit configured to control a pulse width of the pulse width modulated control signal responsive to a first control input and to control a frequency of the pulse width modulated control signal responsive to a second control input. The first control input may include, for example, a current control input, and the second control input may include a light intensity control input, such as a dimming input. The control circuit may be configured to increase the frequency responsive to a change in the light intensity control input corresponding to a decrease in light intensity and to decrease the frequency responsive to a change in the light intensity control input corresponding to an increase in light intensity.
    Type: Grant
