  • Patent number: 6084676
Abstract: The distance between an image indicating a measured portion and a measuring apparatus is previously registered, a measured object is arranged in a prescribed space in a non-contact state, the position of a probe is so adjusted that two-dimensional image sensing means senses the previously registered image of the measured portion, the position of the probe is so adjusted that the distance up to the measured portion by distance measuring means reaches the previously registered distance, and orientation determination means irradiates the measured portion with a light beam while changing the orientation for determining an orientation maximizing the quantity of light transmitted through the measured portion. Thereafter the physical quantity measuring apparatus irradiates the measured portion with measuring light and senses output light from the measured portion for obtaining a physical quantity.

  • Patent number: 6026313
Abstract: A fixture is provided on a set probe and a hole of the set probe communicates with that of the fixture so that a measuring probe consisting of an optical fiber bundle is inserted in the holes. A measured object is irradiated with light from a forward end of the measuring probe, so that outgoing light from the measured object enters the measuring probe. An air pack for coming into contact with the measured object is provided on the forward end of the measuring probe in a position not hindering emission and incidence of light. The air pack is connected with a pressure sensor, so that an indicator reads the pressure.

  • Patent number: 5949540
Abstract: A light equipment irradiating a target with light adjusts light from a light source in a light source optical system and introduces the same into an acousto-optic device, for separating the same into its spectral components and modulating the same in the acousto-optic device. A condensing optical system condenses first order diffractive light outgoing from the acousto-optic device, so that an irradiation optical system irradiates a target with the same. A photodetection device comprises a photoreceiving part and a data processing part, so that the photoreceiving part converts a signal responsive to the fluctuation of modulated measuring light to a plurality of signals of different degrees of amplification simultaneously outputting same. The data processing part selects a non-saturated value of an amplifier or an A-D convertor while maintaining the largest degree of amplification from these signals, and lock-in processes same with a modulation frequency modulating the measuring light.

  • Patent number: 5772606
Abstract: A urinal is provided on its forward end with a cell, which internally communicates with the urinal to outwardly project from the same. A measuring part comprises a light source part for applying a measuring beam of the visible or near infrared wavelength region to the cell which is set in a cell setting part and a light receiving part for receiving and detecting the measuring beam transmitted through the cell, and measures absorbances of uric components to be measured at wavelengths selected therefor respectively. A sensor part is adapted to detect that the cell is set in the cell setting part, so that the measuring part starts a measuring operation on the basis of a signal indicating that the sensor detects the cell. It is possible to carry out a urine test on a person who lies on bed.

  • Patent number: 5696580
Abstract: A measuring beam is incident upon a triangular cell storing a liquid sample, and transmitted light thereof is received by a linear sensor so that both transmitted light intensity and a position of the beam are detected. A refractive index calculating part calculates refractive indices from the position detected by the linear sensor, while an absorbance calculating part calculates absorbance values dependent on component concentration values correcting influence by transmittance change at the triangular cell through the transmitted light intensity values and the refractive indices of the sample calculated at the refractive index calculating part. A component concentration calculating part performs a multivariate analytical operation on the basis of the absorbance values dependent on the component concentration values at a plurality of measuring wavelengths calculated at the absorbance calculating part.
