    Abstract: Disclosed are a video image processing method and electronic device based on virtual reality. The method comprises: determining a curtain resolution and a monocular rendering resolution in a virtual scene; determining a scaling according to the curtain resolution and the monocular rendering resolution; acquiring a video frame of decoded video data, and scaling the video frame according to the scaling; and transmitting the scaled video frame to a three-dimensional image processor, and carrying out texture mapping according to the scaled video frame and the virtual scene. According to the method, a professional two-dimensional image engine preset in a chip of a chip plant is used for scaling the video frame at first after decoding, and then the scaled video frame is transmitted to a three-dimensional image processor for displaying as a texture, so that the purpose of saving three-dimensional graphic processing resources is achieved.

The method includes: obtaining subtitles in at least one timestamp of the 3D video; determining whether subtitle contents in the same timestamp among the obtained subtitles are duplicated; if so, then playing the 3D video by playing the subtitle of the 3D video as 3D subtitles; and otherwise, playing the 3D video by processing the subtitles of the 3D video into 3D subtitles, and then playing the 3D subtitles. With the technical solution according to the disclosure, a display effect of the 3D video can be improved.

    Abstract: In a system for parallelizing polygon overlay operations, a potential for intersection between polygons is determined by the bounding box of each polygon on a base layer in relation to the bounding box of each polygon on an overlay layer. The potential for intersection exists when a vertex of a bounding box around an overlay layer feature is within a bounding box around a base layer feature and vice versa. Calculations to determine the presence of vertices within bounding blocks are performed in parallel on multiple processors. Polygon overlay operations are performed only between features that have a potential to intersect.
