    Abstract: A card edge connector (100) for receiving a memory card (200) includes an insulative housing (1) and a number of terminals (2) retained therein. The insulative housing (1) includes an elongated base (10) extending along a longitudinal direction thereof and a pair of tower section (18) extending upwardly from opposite ends of the base (10). The base (10) defines a receiving slot (10) for receiving the memory card (200) and two rows of contact receiving channels (111) communicated with the slot (10). Each tower section (18) includes a pair of opposed arms (13) and a cavity (15) located therebetween. The arm (13) has a cantilever type resilient finger (132) formed from an inner wall of the arm (13) and extending downwardly for sandwiching the memory card (200), and a locking projection (131) at an upper portion thereof to engage with a notch (203) of the memory card (200).

    Abstract: A card edge connector (100) for receiving a module (3) includes an elongated insulative housing (1) having a central slot (10) for receiving a bottom edge of the module and an arm portion (16) coupled to an end of the insulative housing. The arm portion includes a pair of side walls (160) with a retaining slot (168) formed therebetween for receiving a side edge of the module and a latch (17) located between the side walls and integrally extending upwardly from the insulative housing. The latch has a resilient arm (171) defining a retaining embossment (173) for latching the module and a gripping portion (172) for rotating the resilient arm. A number of terminals (2) are mounted on the insulative housing and extend into the central slot for electrical connection to the module.

The cover includes a locating block (41) retained in the dove-tailed, retaining cavity and a locking portion (42) entering the retaining, through hole. Thus, the cover is mounted to the insulating housing (2) firmly to protect soldering tails (33) and medial portions (32) of the contacts outside the insulating housing.

    Abstract: A carrier strip arrangement includes a pair of first and second carrier sub-arrangements connecting with each other by a plurality of connecting webs. Each of the first and second carrier sub-arrangements contains a carrier strip and a plurality of contacts connected with the carrier strip. Each contact of the first carrier sub-arrangement is a mirror image of and is connected with a corresponding contact of the second carrier sub-arrangement by a pair of connecting webs. Thus, the carrier strip arrangement achieves good stabilization by employing the connecting webs transversely connecting with the corresponding contacts of the first and second rows thereby effectively preventing the contacts from deformation and warpage during package and transportation.
