In one embodiment, glycosphingolipid metabolism is altered in the FA deficient squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) cells, based on analysis of a metabolomics/lipidomics platform. The data indicated ganglioside metabolism was important in FA patients' susceptibility to SCC progression.
