Patent number: 10666441Abstract: Exposure of sensitive information to users and other servers is controlled by using a first security token which contains a user identity and one or more user credentials associated with a first user; a second security token which contains an identity of a token issuer and an identity of a first owning process; and at least a first trusted server which accesses a downstream computing service on behalf of the first user by substituting or combining the first security token and the second security token, while preventing the second security token from being exposed to the first user. This establishes a first security sensitivity level for the first user and a second security sensitivity level for the first trusted server, wherein the first security sensitivity level is a lower access level than the second security sensitivity level for the downstream service.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2019Date of Patent: May 26, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: John Y-C. Patent number: 10341109Abstract: Exposure of sensitive information to users is controlled using a first security token containing user identity and user credentials to represent the user who requests services, and a second security token containing two other identities, one identifying the token issuer and the other identifying the owning process. When requesting services, the token-owning process sends a security token to indicate who is making the request, and uses its key to digitally sign the request. The token-owning process signs the request to indicate that it endorses the request.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2017Date of Patent: July 2, 2019Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: John Y-C. Patent number: 9501528Abstract: Once a request is received from a common information model (CIM) Object Manager (CIMOM), a CIM server may respond quickly and efficiently by utilizing data which is stored in advance of the request from the CIMOM. This previously stored copy of soon-to-be-requested data may be stored in anticipation of receiving the request from the CIMOM for the data, and may be quickly returned to the CIMOM upon receiving the request for it. A CIM profile provider may generate this pre-stored data for a device in order to respond to the request, and a CIM caching provider may receive the data, store the data, receive the request for the data, and provide the data in response to the request, according to one embodiment.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2011Date of Patent: November 22, 2016Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Hancock Y C Chang, Chang Wei-Chien, Ku-Lan Kao, Ku Chang Kuo

Patent number: 8227892Abstract: An integrated receiver with channel selection and image rejection substantially implemented on a single CMOS integrated circuit is described. A receiver front end provides programmable attenuation and a programmable gain low noise amplifier. Frequency conversion circuitry advantageously uses LC filters integrated onto the substrate in conjunction with image reject mixers to provide sufficient image frequency rejection. Filter tuning and inductor Q compensation over temperature are performed on chip. The filters utilize multi track spiral inductors with shields to increase circuit Q. The filters are tuned using local oscillators to tune a substitute filter, and frequency scaling during filter component values to those of the filter being tuned. In conjunction with filtering, frequency planning provides additional image rejection. The advantageous choice of local oscillator signal generation methods on chip is by PLL out of band local oscillation and by direct synthesis for in band local oscillator.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2010Date of Patent: July 24, 2012Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventor: James Y. C. Chang

Patent number: 7821280Abstract: A method and system for monitoring and compensating the performance of an operational circuit is provided. The system includes one or more integrated circuit chips and a controller. Each integrated circuit chip includes one or more operational circuits, each operational circuit having at least one controllable circuit parameter. Each integrated circuit chip also includes a process monitor module at least partially constructed thereon. The controller is coupled to each process monitor module and to each operational circuit. The controller includes logic for evaluating the performance of an operational circuit based on data obtained from process monitor module and operational circuit related data stored in a memory. Based on the evaluation, the controller determines whether any deviations from desired or optimal performance of the circuit exist. If deviations exist, the controller generates a control signal to initiate adjustments to the operational circuit to compensate for the deviations.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2008Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Lawrence M. Patent number: 7783275Abstract: A direct conversion satellite tuner is fully integrated on a common substrate. The integrated tuner receives an RF signal having a plurality of channels and down-converts a selected channel directly to baseband for further processing. The integrated tuner includes on-chip local oscillator generation, tunable baseband filters, and DC Offset cancellation. The integrated tuner can be implemented in a completely differential I/Q configuration for improved electrical performance. The entire direct conversion satellite tuner can be fabricated on a single semiconductor substrate using standard CMOS processing, with minimal off-chip components. The tuner configuration described herein is not limited to processing TV signals, and can be utilized to down-convert other RF signals to an IF frequency or baseband.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2006Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Myles Wakayama, Dana Vincent Laub, Frank Carr, Afshin Mellati, David S.
