  • Patent number: 9907113
Abstract: Provided is a system for wireless communications including several base stations supporting a wide area wireless network and several mobile user equipment (UE) devices. Each mobile UE device may be configured to transmit a request to establish a local wireless connection with one or more of the UE devices. The mobile UE device may receive a response containing connectivity information from each of the mobile UE devices and then select one of the mobile UE devices based on the connectivity information received from each of the mobile UE devices. The mobile UE device may then establish a local wireless connection with the selected mobile UE device. The mobile UE device may then communicate with one of the base stations in the wide area wireless network through the selected mobile UE device, utilizing the local wireless connection.

  • Publication number: 20080120077
Abstract: A computerized derivable kinetic characterization measurement method for live cell kinetic characterization inputs kinetic recognition data for a plurality of time frames. A single cell measurement step is performed using the kinetic recognition data for a plurality of time frames to generate single cell feature for a plurality of time frames output. The single cell feature includes cell morphological profiling feature. A kinetic measurement step uses the single cell feature for a plurality of time frames to generate kinetic feature output. A trajectory measurement step uses the single cell feature for a plurality of time frames and the kinetic feature to generate trajectory feature output. An interval measurement step uses the kinetic feature to generate interval feature output. A cell state classifier step uses the interval feature to generate cell state output. A state based measurement uses the single cell feature, the kinetic feature and the cell state to generate state based feature output.

  • Patent number: 5729765
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the status of a resource shared by multiple subsystems operating in mutually asynchronous clock domains apply a one-bit counter for each subsystem and synchronize the value of each such bit counter with all asynchronous clocks. Each subsystem exclusive-ORs the value of each bit counter to generate an availability status for the shared resource. System delays caused by synchronization are minimized, and circuit design and proof of correctness at the design stage are simplified.

  • Patent number: 5505382
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a liquid dispensing apparatus such as those used in the application of liquid chemicals to a lawn. The liquid dispensing apparatus is comprised of a first wall, which can also serve as a handle, with a first inlet portion for receiving a pressurized fluid from an outside source, a first outlet portion for dispensing fluid into a container, a second inlet portion for receiving fluid from the container and a second outlet portion for dispensing a fluid from the liquid dispensing apparatus. An attachment on either or both ends of the first wall allows the apparatus to be removably attached to an external pressurized fluid supply source and an external dispensing apparatus such as a lawn sprinkler. Included in the first wall is a means for removably attaching the liquid distribution system to the exterior of a container through an opening or openings within the exterior of the container.

  • Patent number: 4287513
Abstract: The alarm device includes a resilient metallic spring strap which is received over a doorknob and against the shank of the doorknob and which forms an input contact to the device. The device further includes an oscillator which outputs a signal through a coupling network having a capacitive branch to ground that includes a capacitive path extending through the strap to the doorknob. When a person touches the doorknob, a capacitive path to ground is established that causes increased attenuation of the signal level. A self-initializing and self-compensating amplifier in the device detects such drops in the signal level and triggers a pulsating alarm. The circuit needs no manual adjustment.
