  • Publication number: 20240127367
Abstract: A crop prediction system performs various machine learning operations to predict crop production and to identify a set of farming operations that, if performed, optimize crop production. The crop prediction system uses crop prediction models trained using various machine learning operations based on geographic and agronomic information. Responsive to receiving a request from a grower, the crop prediction system can access information representation of a portion of land corresponding to the request, such as the location of the land and corresponding weather conditions and soil composition. The crop prediction system applies one or more crop prediction models to the access information to predict a crop production and identify an optimized set of farming operations for the grower to perform.

  • Publication number: 20190325390
Abstract: An online agricultural system manages and optimizes interactions of entities within the system to enable the execution of transaction and the transportation of crop products. The online agricultural system accesses historic and environmental data describing factors that may impact crop product transactions and/or transportation to determine market prices for crop products and crop product transportation. Responsive to receiving a request from an entity, the online agricultural system determines an optimal transaction for the entity, such as a price for selling a crop product, an available crop product for purchase, or a transportation opportunity to transport a crop product.

  • Publication number: 20040211679
Abstract: The invention disclosed relates to an apparatus and process for electrochemical compression of hydrogen. The apparatus comprises a membrane electrolyte cell assembly (MEA), including planar gas distribution plates sandwiching the MEA, the assembly being held together by end-plates, the end-plates having complementary peripheral grooves for seating an intervening seal between the end-plates and the MEA, the end-plate on the anode side further including a hydrogen supply inlet and the end-plate on the cathode side further including a compressed hydrogen outlet. Both single cell and multi-cell assemblies are disclosed. The multi-cell assemblies comprise a plurality of such single cells connected in series, such that the compressed hydrogen from the outlet of a first cell is connected to the hydrogen outlet of the next cell in series, where each cell is electrically isolated from the adjacent cell in the series.

  • Publication number: 20040053100
Abstract: The application relates to a method of fabricating micro fuel cells and membrane electrode assemblies by thin film deposition techniques using a dimensionally stable proton exchange membrane as a substrate. The application also relates to membrane electrode assemblies and fuel cells fabricated in accordance with the method. The method includes the steps of successively depositing catalyst, current collector and flow management layers on the membrane substrate in predetermined patterns. Since the fuel cell is formed layer by layer, the need for assembly and sealing of discrete components is avoided. The method improves the contact resistance between the current collectors and catalyst layers and reduce ohmic losses, thereby avoiding the need for end plates or other compressive elements. This in turn reduces the overall thickness of the manufactured fuel cell. Since the fuel cell layers are optionally flexible, the devices may be fabricated using a continuous roller process or other automated means.

  • Patent number: 5159819
Abstract: The present invention relates to a palm-sized air conditioner. The palm-sized air conditioner includes a housing having a top with a vent; batteries are disposed within the housing; an ice chamber is disposed within the housing; a box fan moves air at room temperature through the ice chamber to produce cool air; and vertically adjustable horizontal vanes for receiving the cool air while the box fan passes the cool air up and out of the vent.

  • Patent number: 5065931
Abstract: In a process for repairing electronic device packages, the problem of removing solder remnants on substrate bonding pads is solved by, first etching a pattern in silicon and metallizing the pattern to make a silicon wick. The solder remnants on the bonding pads are melted, and the etched pattern of the silicon wick is brought into contact with the remnants to remove them by capillary action. It is often convenient to heat the silicon wick so that solder remnants melt when the wick is brought into contact with them.
