Abstract: A method for controlling electronic device includes the following blocks. A control signal is received from an earphone jack. A predefined control command corresponding to the control signal is obtained. At least one application associated with the predefined control command is determined whether is initialized. The predefined control command is executed when the at least one application is initialized.

Abstract: A medication reminder method and system are provided. A carrier device acquires medication information of a medication from a medication information server via a network. The medication information includes a pre-determined time interval prescribed for the medication. The carrier device activates an alarm device to emit an alarm signal to remind a user to take the medication on expiry of the pre-determined time interval.

Abstract: A printing method for printing a file stored in an e-book connecting the e-book and a printer to a network, where the e-book sends a message to find the printer. The printer responds to the broadcasting message to establish connection between the e-book and the printer. The method further includes sending a printing request to the printer by the e-book, and determining whether the file is a format which the printer can directly print. If the file is not a format can be identified by the printer, the e-book decodes the file to a format can be identified by the printer, and uploads to the printer. Then, the printer prints the decoded file.

Abstract: A system for searching for a most economical call mode includes a mobile phone, a network, and a user terminal. The mobile phone includes a dialing module, an information acquisition module, a calculation controlling module, an instant messaging module, and a database storing a plurality of calling fee standards. The user terminal is capable of communicating with the mobile phone through the network. The user terminal includes a first call terminal and a second call terminal. An instant messaging software is embedded in the second call terminal. The information acquisition module is started up, and the instant messaging module determines if the second call terminal is on-line. If the second call terminal is on-line, the calculation controlling module is started up to calculate the most economical call mode via searching in the database, and suggests selecting the most economical call mode to establish a communication.
