The computer-implemented method includes obtaining, at an authentication server, a current location and an associated time from a client device of the user over a communications network; determining, by a hardware processor, a location score based on a correlation between the current location and the associated time and a historical location and a historical time that are associated with the client device of the user; determining, by the hardware processor, a risk assessment score based on the location score; and providing, over the communications network, an authentication verification for the user to perform one or more actions with an online resource based on the risk assessment score.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems, methods, and devices for countering fraudulent transactions by identifying devices associated with fraudulent activity. Examples relate to a system which compares identification parameters of devices associated with fraudulent activity, directly or indirectly, to identification parameters of a particular device. Based on the comparison, a confidence score may be generated may relate to the risk of fraud associated with that device. In some examples, the system may challenge a user with additionally security questions if the confidence score associated with a device indicates an increased risk of fraud.

Migration policies and an algorithm applied by the module facilitates the migration of files (i.e., object replicas or erasure code fragments) from one storage to another storage. The FILE_HEAT is monitored over a period of time. If the FILE_HEAT of a file increases over a period of time relative to the other files, the file is migrated to a higher level storage. Files can be migrated to a higher level storage even if the FILE_HEAT of a file decreases over a period of time.
