  • Patent number: 10341658
Abstract: Techniques related to video pre-processing for video coding are discussed. Such video pre-processing techniques may include applying adaptive temporal and spatial filtering to pixel values of video frames of input video to generate pre-processed video such that the adaptive temporal and spatial filtering includes blending spatial and temporal filtering of the individual pixel value when the block of pixels is a non-motion block and spatial-only filtering the individual pixel value when the block of pixels is a motion block.

  • Publication number: 20180301095
Abstract: Often when there is a glare on a display screen the user may be able to mitigate the glare by tilting or otherwise moving the screen or changing their viewing position. However, when driving a car there are limited options for overcoming glares on the dashboard, especially when you are driving for a long distance in the same direction. Embodiments are directed to eliminating such glare. Other embodiments are related to mixed reality (MR) and filling in occluded areas.

  • Publication number: 20180284876
Abstract: A system of reducing power consumed by a large screen display panel may comprise a display divided into a plurality of segments. A gaze tracker identifies a gaze region where a viewer(s) is looking to increase a refresh rate for segments identified in the gaze region with relation to segments outside of the gaze region. The shading rate of segments outside of the gaze region may also be lowered to save even more power.

  • Patent number: 10074034
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with processing an image are disclosed herein. In embodiments, a method for processing one or more images may include generating a plurality of pairs of keypoint features for a pair of images. Each pair of keypoint features may include a keypoint feature from each image. Further, for each pair of keypoint features, corresponding adjoin features may be generated. Additionally, for each pair of keypoint features, whether the adjoin features are similar may be determined. Whether the pair of images have at least one similar object may also be determined, based at least in part on a result of the determination of similarity between the corresponding adjoin features. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9866730
Abstract: One or more apparatus and method for compressing xvYCC or sRGB color to a narrower color gamut. Embodiments may be utilized in processing images/video image sequences provided in a wide gamut color space for display in standard RGB color space. In further embodiments, an sRGB or xvYCC compliant input is compressed to a gamut narrower than sRGB. Embodiments where a narrow output color gamut lacks a fully-defined 3D color space, semi-fixed-hue gamut compression may be performed by adjusting parameters provided to a fixed-hue compression module capable of mapping 3D color space representations between well-defined gamuts.
