Also provided are isolated populations of metabolically mature human cells, and methods and kits using same for selecting a compound for toxicity to the cells.

The receptacle comprises a plurality of hollow fibers extending the length of the receptacle and at least one solid absorbent material occupying a space between the plurality of hollow fibers. Each hollow fiber comprises at least one opening and a lumen defined by the walls thereof, allowing the liquid to flow through. The hollow fiber walls have a porosity profile selective to passage of waste materials contained in the liquid from the lumen to the solid absorbent material(s), thereby filtering the liquid. Abstract: The present disclosure provides endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) catheter systems having multiple ports and sensors configured to determine the location of the catheter's and/or guidewire's distal end as well as optional one or more magnetic bending aids, configured to aim a guidewire to the desired duct location. Further provided is a guidewire having a magnetic end and optional sensing elements. Also provided are methods of using the catheters and/or guidewires in ERCP procedures.

A display control system performs signal processing on the modulated content of the images, and outputs frames of those images in which the intensity level of illumination from the trachea can be controlled without any need to change the illumination output from the modulated light source. The light source has no connection with the rest of the system, and need contain no more than a battery, a power supply circuit and a light source. It can therefore be of low cost and can be made disposable, such as in the form of an adhesive patch applied to the subject's neck.
