  • Patent number: 11056232
Abstract: This disclosure describes a system, a method, and a computer program that enable auditing reported amounts of infused medications at a medical facility. In one embodiment, a computer receives packets transmitted over a communication network, where the packets include data related to activity of infusion pump systems at the medical facility. The computer performs deep packet inspection (DPI) of the packets, and extracts, from results of the DPI, values that include dosages of medications delivered to patients during treatment sessions using the infusion pump systems. The computer calculates, based on the values, amounts of the medications that were provided to the patients during the treatment sessions (actual amounts). Additionally, the computer receives amounts of the medications reported as being provided to the patients during the treatment sessions (reported amounts). The computer forwards a result of a comparison between the actual amounts and the reported amounts.

  • Publication number: 20210050099
Abstract: Utilization-based load balancing of medical devices. In one embodiment, a computer receives packets related to activity of medical devices, which are transmitted over a communication network. The computer performs deep packet inspection (DPI) of the packets, and calculates, based on results of the DPI, extents of utilization of each of the medical devices since receiving the most recent preventative maintenance. The computer recommends, based on the extents, which of the medical devices be utilized to treat patients, such that given that a certain medical device and another medical device are both available to treat patients, and an extent of utilization of the certain medical device since its most recent preventative maintenance is greater than an extent of utilization of the other medical device since the other medical device's most recent preventative maintenance, the other medical device is recommended at a higher frequency that the certain medical device.

  • Publication number: 20210050100
Abstract: Relocating medical devices for more efficient preventative maintenance. The computer identifies, based on the extents, first and second medical devices that are scheduled for upcoming preventative maintenance and are located in first and second rooms, respectively. An extent of utilization of the first medical device is below a predetermined threshold, and an extent of utilization of the second medical device is above the predetermined threshold. The computer recommends moving the first medical device to the second room and moving the second medical device to the first room.

  • Patent number: 10658079
Abstract: This disclosure describes a system, a method, and a computer program that enable recommendation of a version of firmware for medical devices. In one embodiment, a computer receives packets transmitted over communication networks of medical facilities, where the packets include data related to medical device activity. The computer performs deep packet inspection (DPI) of the packets, and extracts, from results of the DPI, versions of firmware installed on the medical devices. The computer calculates, based on the versions of firmware, extents to which different versions of firmware were installed on the medical devices, and identifies a latest version of firmware, from among the different versions, whose extent of installation reaches a predetermined threshold. The computer can then make a recommendation to update firmware installed on one or more medical devices at a certain medical facility to the latest version.
