  • Patent number: 11564240
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may identify a burst periodicity for communication bursts over one or more cells, such as secondary cells (SCells) in accordance with a multi-carrier communication scheme. The UE and the base station may determine a cell dormancy pattern for switching the SCells between an active state and a dormant state based on the burst periodicity. The base station and the UE may use one or more bandwidth parts (BWPs) for communications and may configure the UE to perform BWP switching over the SCell during the dormancy state switching operation. The base station and the UE may communicate the bursts while the SCells are in the active state and may switch the SCells between the active state and the dormant state based on the cell dormancy pattern.

  • Publication number: 20220038955
Abstract: Aspects are directed towards activating out-of-order delivery (OOOD) on a user equipment (UE). An application programming interface (API) on the UE may set one or more configuration parameters for IP flows from the wireless network. The UE may then measure the IP flows from the wireless network, traffic flow templates (TFTs), and/or quality-of service flows (QFI) to identify measured IP flows from the wireless network meet the one or more configuration parameters. The UE may then activate OOOD for the IP flows from the wireless network that meet the one or more configuration parameters.

  • Patent number: 10499425
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for communicating in a wireless communication network are disclosed. For example, one method includes determining, by a first access point, a polling schedule for communicating with one or more wireless stations on a first wireless communication channel, the polling schedule for a second access point on a second wireless communication channel. The method further includes transmitting, by the first access point, on the first wireless communication channel, transmission information to the one or more wireless stations, wherein the transmission information comprises information for the one or more wireless stations to receive a transmission from the second access point on the second wireless communication channel. The method further includes transmitting, by the first access point, on the first wireless communication channel, one or more packets to at least one of the one or more wireless stations in accordance with the polling schedule.

  • Publication number: 20160270118
Abstract: Various aspects are provided for low-latency wireless local area networks. In a aspect, an access point (AP) may select, from a plurality of wireless stations associated with the AP, a wireless station for the AP to poll. Each of the plurality of wireless stations may be configured to transmit on a channel in response to being polled by the AP. The AP may transmit, at a time selected by the AP, a downlink frame including polling information to the wireless station on the channel, the polling information including a permitted duration for the wireless station to access the channel. The AP may monitor during the permitted duration for the AP to receive an uplink transmission from the wireless station on the channel, the uplink transmission from the wireless station being in response to the polling information received by the wireless station.

  • Publication number: 20160270018
Abstract: Various aspects are provided for low-latency wireless local area networks (WLANs). An access point (AP) may transmit a downlink pilot signal for synchronization of the AP with one or more wireless stations. The AP may receive an uplink control block synchronized with the downlink pilot signal including a reservation for uplink transmission from a first wireless station of the one or more wireless stations. The reservation may include an uplink pilot signal and a modulated pilot signal and indicate that the first wireless station has traffic for uplink transmission to the AP. The AP may schedule the first wireless station for uplink transmission during a traffic block after the uplink control block. The AP may estimate a wireless channel to the first wireless station based on the pilot signal and the modulated pilot signal. Other low-latency aspects apply to WLANs in which the AP and associated wireless stations are synchronized.

  • Patent number: 9119121
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to improve roaming performance and to minimize disruptions in connectivity. When roaming between a source AP and a target AP, the device determines whether the APs employ different gateways, such as through an ARP exchange. If the source and target APs have different gateways, a DHCP exchange is used to renew the IP address of the device to restore network connectivity.
