  • Publication number: 20150136515
Abstract: An exhaust assembly that includes an exhaust pipe extending rearward from a vehicle into an exhaust passage, and a fascia coupled to the vehicle defining the exhaust passage. The exhaust assembly further includes a bezel defining an exhaust opening substantially aligned with the pipe, and a sleeve configured within the exhaust opening, which may define an exhaust plane. The sleeve extends rearward, flush or sub-flush, with the rearmost portion of the exhaust opening or exhaust plane, and substantially parallel to an exit portion of the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20140311609
Abstract: An exhaust assembly is provided that includes an exhaust pipe extending rearward from a vehicle into an exhaust passage, and a fascia coupled to the vehicle defining the exhaust passage. The exhaust assembly further includes a bezel defining an exhaust opening substantially aligned with the pipe, and a sleeve configured within the exhaust opening. The sleeve extends rearward to at least the rearmost portion of the exhaust opening and substantially parallel to an exit portion of the pipe. The exhaust opening may further define an exhaust plane tangent to rearmost portion of the bezel, and the sleeve may extend at least to this plane. An upper sleeve may also be configured to extend at least to a line tangent to the rearmost surfaces of an upper bezel and perpendicular to the upper sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20140316749
Abstract: A method of designing an exhaust assembly that includes the steps: developing an initial exhaust assembly design; evaluating the initial design based on a design guide; developing an interim exhaust assembly design, or a plurality of interim exhaust assembly designs, based on the initial design and a parametric model; evaluating the interim design or designs using a computational fluid dynamics model; and developing a final exhaust assembly design based on the parametric and the fluid dynamics models.

  • Publication number: 20140117270
Abstract: This invention relates to rigid isocyanate-based polymer foam comprising a carbon black component comprising at least 50 weight percent of a fluorinated carbon black. Said foam having improved thermal properties, specifically, rigid polyurethane and/or polyisocyanurate foams for use in insulation applications.

  • Publication number: 20130224464
Abstract: Prepare an article of manufacture by providing a latex of hollow latex particles with a rigid inner shell and adhesive outer shell, providing nanoporous particles and dispersing them into the latex and drying the latex so as to cause the hollow latex particle to bind to one another and form an article of manufacture containing nanoporous particles and hollow latex particles wherein the hollow latex particles are bound directly to one another to form a continuous matrix and the nanoporous particles are dispersed within the continuous matrix of hollow latex particles.

  • Publication number: 20130091682
Abstract: An article contains inorganic nanoporous particles bound together by water dispersible polyurethane, the article having 75 volume-percent or more inorganic nanoporous particles based on total article volume and having a density of 0.14 grams per cubic centimeter or less and a thermal conductivity of 25 milliWatts per meter*Kelvin or less and having a thickness of at least 0.5 centimeters. A process for preparing such an article includes dispersing inorganic nanoporous particles into an aqueous dispersion of dispersible polyurethane to form a dispersion, casting the dispersion into a mold, and drying to form an article. A method for using such an article includes placing the article in a structure between two areas that can differ in temperature.

  • Publication number: 20090142330
Abstract: Methods are provided for the suppression of inflammation or a tumor. The methods can include selecting a subject in need of suppression of inflammation or the tumor and inhibiting plasmin activity in the subject to decrease matrix metalloproteinase production, thereby suppressing the inflammation or tumor. In several examples, an agent including inactive plasmin at a therapeutically effective concentration is administered to inhibit plasmin activity. Methods are also provided for modulating annexin A2 receptor activity.
