  • Publication number: 20090213377
Abstract: A lens arrangement is presented. The lens arrangement comprises a first element having a concave reflective surface and defining an optical axis of the lens arrangement, and a second substantially flat and at least partially reflective element spaced-apart from the first element along the optical axis. The second element is configured to allow light passage therethrough and is oriented with respect to the optical axis and the first element such that at a predetermined angle of incidence of an input light beam onto the second element, the input light beam is reflected onto the reflective surface of the first element and reflected therefrom to pass through the second element.

  • Publication number: 20080186474
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of measuring an optical system artifact that includes introduction into an optical path of a measurement target (64) having at least one edge. Illuminating a section of the edge by a first illumination and illuminating another section of the edge by a second illumination. The difference of the edge images generated by the optical system (60) when illuminated by the first illumination and the second illumination measured in a predefined plane represents the optical artifact.

  • Publication number: 20080185525
Abstract: A method and device are revealed to non-invasively identify hidden foreign objects in proximity of living tissue. More specifically to a method and device find a foreign object hidden under the clothes of a person by measuring an anomaly in an infrared radiation signal emitted by the human subject; the anomaly caused by the presence of the foreign object. A spectral scan at the identified location is used to identify the object. Even when the object is hidden behind clothes, the object is positively identified based on the interaction of optical radiation naturally emitted by the human body in the infrared frequency spectrum with every component of the examined object.

  • Publication number: 20060102193
Abstract: The invention provides a method and an apparatus for washing and cleaning fruits and vegetables. The apparatus has a degassing means (14); a washing tank (26) which accommodates at least one item for cleaning; an ultrasonic means (28); at least one water pumping means (32); a water jetting means (62) for directing a plurality of jets of water towards the at least one cleaning item to halt circulation and motion of water in the washing tank (26) and concurrently to bring the rotation and motion of the at least one cleaning item to halt within the shortest period of time, a holding means (52, 70) to facilitate passage of ultrasonic energy through the water to optimally penetrate the at least one cleaning item immersed therein; and a control means (16) for programming and executing relevant process parameters in the operation of the apparatus.
