    Abstract: A computer system in a wide area network, including a workstation computer and a first virtualization server which maintains virtualization information in real time for the workstation computer on a first storage device, wherein the first virtualization server is located at a first site. A second virtualization server is located at a second site in the wide area network. At the first site, a first gateway computer is operatively connected to a first synchronization computer and at the second site, a second gateway computer is operatively connected to a second synchronization computer. A copy of the virtualization information of the workstation computer is maintained in real time on a second storage device at the second site, by intercommunicating between the first synchronization computer and the second synchronization computer.
