  • Patent number: 10944502
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods described herein provide a method for padding a signal extension of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. A transceiver may obtain a plurality of data symbols for transmission, and determine that a number of information bits for a last symbol of the plurality of data symbols is not an integer value. A special padding rule may be applied to add padding bits to the last symbol. A number of coded bits for the last symbol may be determined when the number of information bits for the last symbol has changed, and the plurality of data symbols for data transmission may be encoded based on the determined number of coded bits for the last symbol.

  • Patent number: 10834674
Abstract: A method for communicating in a high efficiency WLAN includes determining that a transmission mode of a transmitting device for transmitting a long training field (LTF) sequence is an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) mode. In response to the determination that the transmission mode is the OFDMA mode, the method determines a target resource unit (RU) sequence for a smallest RU for the OFDMA mode, selects, from a plurality of candidate training sequences and in accordance with a desired peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) value, a target training sequence for the LTF sequence, and masks the target training sequence by muting specified tones of the target training sequence. The masked target training sequence is assigned to the transmitting device to be transmitted in the LTF and the LTF including the masked target training sequence is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 10826735
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed herein for aligning HE-LTFs corresponding to a plurality of users by determining a respective number of spatial streams corresponding to each user, determining a highest respective number of spatial streams of the spatial streams, and setting an alignment number of HE-LTF symbols to be equal to or larger than the highest respective number of spatial streams. For each respective user, a respective matrix of HE-LTF symbols corresponding to the respective number of spatial streams of the respective user is selected, and it is determined whether the respective matrix of HE-LTF symbols has fewer symbols than the alignment number. In response to determining that the respective matrix of HE-LTF symbols has fewer symbols than the alignment number, padding symbols may be added to the respective matrix to yield a number of HE-LTF symbols in the respective matrix that corresponds to the alignment number.

  • Publication number: 20200336934
Abstract: A method for transmitting a resource request for an uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) transmission is described. A High Throughput (HT) Control field that includes buffer information corresponding to media access control (MAC) protocol data units (MPDUs) that are queued for transmission by a first communication device is generated by the first communication device. The buffer information indicates a number of bytes for the MPDUs that are queued for transmission. • Patent number: 10797821
Abstract: A communication device receives a physical layer (PHY) data unit via a communication channel, and analyzes i) a length value in a field in a legacy portion of a PHY preamble of the PHY data unit, and ii) a phase of modulation of an orthogonal frequency division modulation (OFDM) symbol in a non-legacy portion of the PHY preamble. The communication device determines a format of the received PHY data unit corresponding to the analysis of i) the length value and ii) the phase of modulation of the OFDM symbol in the non-legacy portion of the PHY preamble, where the determined format is from a set of multiple PHY formats defined by a communication protocol. The communication device then processes the received PHY data unit according to the determined format.
