    Abstract: A method for positioning an offshore platform jacket is used wherein the jacket is loaded on a barge in a conventional manner and towed out to sea to a predetermined offshore location. The barge is submerged, and the buoyant jacket is detacted. The jacket is towed away, and the barge is resurfaced for additional use.

  • Method and structure for forming an offshore facility
    Patent number: 4575281
    Abstract: An offshore facility is formed by positioning an open top container having a barge therein at a predetermined offshore location. The container is flooded with water to sink the container to the subwater surface at the location, and to float the barge in the vicinity of the open top of the container. Thereafter, the water within the container is dispersed with material such as a sand slurry suitable for supporting the barge in the vicinity of the top of the container.
