  • Patent number: 6923689
Abstract: An electrical connector (100) mounted on a printed circuit board includes an insulative housing (2) and a terminal module (3) received in the housing. The insulative housing (2) defines a receiving cavity (24) for receiving a mating electrical connector and a top plate (22) with a cutout (221). The terminal module is received in the insulative housing and comprises a dielectric body (30) and a plurality of conductive terminals (31) fixed in the body. Each conductive terminal includes a contact portion (312) for electrically connecting with the mating electrical connector and a fixing portion fixed in the dielectric body. The dielectric body comprises a substantially horizontal portion (301) for engaging with the cutout of the insulative housing and a mating recess (303) positioned on a front edge of the horizontal portion, thereby forming a ladder-shaped front portion thereof, with the fixing portion of the conductive terminal positioned in a bottom portion of the horizontal portion.

  • Patent number: 6918795
Abstract: An electrical connector (100) is provided for mating with a complementary plug and includes an insulative housing (10), a terminal module (20) having a number of conductive terminals (202) retained therein and an anti-mismating device (30) integrally formed with the housing. The housing includes a side wall (102) and a receiving cavity (106) for receiving the plug. The side wall defines a window (1021) communicating with the receiving cavity. Each terminal has a contacting portion extending into the receiving cavity of the housing. The anti-mismating device is seated inside of the window and includes a base portion (301) being movably received in the window, a stopper portion (302) extending inwardly from the base portion and into the receiving cavity, and a tapered guiding portion (303) in front of the stopper portion.

  • Patent number: 6808427
Abstract: An electrical connector for mating with a complementary plug connector includes an insulative housing (3) having two sidewalls (32) and a receiving cavity (34) for receiving the plug, a number of terminals (21) having contact portions (211) extending into the receiving cavity and an anti-mismating devices (4). At least one of the sidewalls of the housing defines a window (321) therein and a retention groove (312) adjacent to the window. The anti-mismating device includes a locking portion (41), an elbow portion (42) extending downwardly and rearwardly from a front portion of the locking portion and a stopping tab (45) extending inwardly from the elbow. The elbow and the stopping tab are inserted into the receiving cavity through the window. The locking portion is secured in the retention groove.
