  • Patent number: 8802870
Abstract: A method for converting trans-cis nepetalactone to cis-trans nepetalactone using molecular sieves. The molecular sieves may, for example, have a pH in water of at least about 9, and/or may be activated prior to use by heating.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 2008
Date of Patent: August 12, 2014
Assignee: E I du Pont de Nemours and Company
Inventors: Yamaira Gonzalez, David Richard Corbin
  • Publication number: 20140073707
Abstract: Compositions comprising a fluorosurtactant and a fluoro-free hydrotrope are disclosed. The fluoro-free hydrotropes are cationic aromatic compounds, anionic aromatic compounds, or water soluble azo derivatives.
    Type: Application
    Filed: September 13, 2012
    Publication date: March 13, 2014

  • Publication number: 20130171395
Abstract: Polyimide resin compositions that contain an aromatic polyimide, graphite, and acid-washed kaolinite are found to exhibit high thermal oxidative stability. Such compositions are especially useful in molded articles that are exposed to high temperatures, such as bushings, bearings, and seal rings that are used in aerospace, transportation, and materials handling applications.

  • Publication number: 20120125551
Abstract: Biomass pretreatment using anhydrous ammonia was found to be effective in a static vessel when the ammonia can penetrate through the biomass particles or pieces in vapor state. To achieve this condition, total system moisture content is kept below 40 weight % based on total mass in the system. The pretreated biomass product is effectively saccharified to produce fermentable sugars for biocatalyst production of a product.

  • Publication number: 20110250646
Abstract: Methods for treating biomass for release of fermentable sugars with an improved inhibitor profile are provided. Specifically, a hydrolysate comprising fermentable sugars with an improved inhibitor profile is obtained by saccharification of a reaction product obtained by pretreating biomass with ammonia under suitable reaction conditions. The pretreated biomass reaction product has an acetamide to acetate molar ratio greater than about 1 and an acetyl conversion of greater than 60%. The acetamide to acetate molar ratio is maintained greater than about 1 throughout saccharification. The hydrolysate may be fermented to a target compound.
