  • Patent number: 12012066
Abstract: A vehicle system receives a search request, such as from a remote server or other vehicle. The system, responsive to the search request, searches for one or more device signals using one or more sensors of the vehicle. Further, the system records any device signatures associated with any device signals detected by the search and transmits the device signatures to a remote server. The remote server may take further action, such as, but not limited to, alerting the authorities, disabling a vehicle or vehicle system, and/or notifying a vehicle owner, based on processing the received signatures.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 18, 2024
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Elena Ilieva, Simon John William Hurr, Yamen Taleb
  • Patent number: 11580790
Abstract: A vehicle system may include a memory of a vehicle configured to maintain at least one smart contract between a manufacturer of the vehicle and a supplier of components to the manufacturer, and a processor of the vehicle configured to receive at least one diagnostic code from the vehicle, the diagnostic code being associated with at least one vehicle component, in response to the code being identified by the processor as being associated with the at least one smart contract, update the at least one smart contract within the memory with the code, and transmit the smart contract, as updated, to a third party associated with the vehicle component.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 10919490
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes determining a connection status of a first attempted connection between a mobile device comprising a Phone-as-a-Key (PaaK) controller and a first Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) module of a target vehicle. The mobile device selects, based on the connection status, a relay vehicle associated with the PaaK controller and the target vehicle. The relay vehicle includes a second BLE module. The mobile device may establish a second connection between the mobile device and a second BLE module of the relay vehicle, and transmit a power mode instruction to the target vehicle via the second connection between the mobile device and the second BLE installed in the relay vehicle. The second connection enables the second BLE module to relay the power mode instruction to the target vehicle, and the power mode instruction enables the target vehicle to execute a key-on operation.
