  • Publication number: 20180184371
Abstract: An apparatus is provided which comprises: a battery to selectively power the apparatus; a first circuitry to estimate a first travel time to travel from a start location to an end location via a first route; and a second circuitry to (i) determine that a charge of the battery is likely to be exhausted prior to a user is to reach the end location via the first route, if the apparatus is to operate in a first mode of operation, and (ii) display the first route as an infeasible route

  • Publication number: 20140348013
Abstract: A device and a method of collecting information about access points in a wireless telecommunication system, for example RSS fingerprints in a Wi-Fi network, are disclosed. Information can be collected automatically along a user's path, using a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal is provided with display means for displaying the zone in which the mobile terminal moves around. The mobile terminal also includes pointing means to point at a location on a map. When the user is positioned at the location pointed at by the pointing means, the user can validates the user's position using validation means. Information collected along the path and coordinates of each validated position are time-stamped using a clock in the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 8060012
Abstract: In a portable electronic device (100) having a plurality of near field communication applications stored within a plurality of execution environments, an application discovery manager (311) is configured to automatically select and launch one or more of the near field communication applications. A near field communication circuit (300) receives a near field communication request from an external near field communication device (700). The application discovery manager (311) identifies a near field communication technology, a protocol, and an application identifier and then references a registry table (313) to determine identification parameters corresponding with the identified information. The application discovery manager (311) then selects a near field communication application and launches it. The application discovery manager (311) further configures a routing switch (316) to direct data between the near field communication circuit controller (301) and the appropriate execution environment.

  • Publication number: 20050044367
Abstract: This application relates to a method of enabling and disabling software features in a software-implemented feature set, to the software itself and to a device with the software thereon. In accordance with the method of the invention, a token formed from identification and feature related information is sent to an authorization device. The authorization device creates a key from this information and sends the key and information on the authorized feature set back to the device. The device generates its own version of the key and compares its version with the received version. If the two keys match, the authorized feature set is implemented.
