    Abstract: Techniques for inferring whether an event is occurring in 3D space based on 2D image data and for maintaining a camera's calibration are disclosed. An image of an environment is accessed. Input is received, where the input includes a 2D rule imposed against a ground plane. The 2D rule includes conditions indicative of an event. A bounding box is generated and encompasses a detected object. A point within the bounding box is projected from a 2D-space image plane of the image into 3D space to generate a 3D-space point. Based on the 3D-space point, a 3D-space ground contact point is generated. That 3D-space ground contact point is reprojected onto the ground plane of the image to generate a synthesized 2D ground contact point. A location of the synthesized 2D ground contact point is determined to satisfy the conditions.

Compounds like reinforcing filler/elastomer blends display some similarity to colloidal solutions in that the filler particles are close to randomly dispersed through processing. Applying a pseudo-thermodynamic approach takes advantage of this analogy between the kinetics of mixing for polymer compounds and true thermally driven dispersion for colloids. The results represent a new approach to understanding and predicting compatibility in polymer compounds based on a pseudo-thermodynamic approach.

    Abstract: A method of preparing epoxypropane by direct epoxidation of propylene includes the steps of contacting a mixed gas consisting of a reaction feed gas and a diluent gas with a catalyst to carry out reaction under reaction conditions of propylene epoxidation to prepare epoxypropane. The reaction feed gas contains propylene, oxygen gas and hydrogen gas while at least a portion of the diluent gas is a gaseous olefin. Using gaseous olefin as at least a portion of the diluent gas to perform propylene epoxidation that can significantly extend service life of the catalyst, effectively reduce the used amount of diluent gas, and improve the reaction selectivity and propylene conversion rate.
